About the Role
As an individual contributor, you will complete tasks within scheduled timelines, collaborate with colleagues, and interact with counterparts to clarify queries. You will also engage with Engineering, Project Management, and Production teams as needed to ensure smooth execution of projects. The role involves configuration and testing of Substation Automation Systems for high‑ and medium‑voltage substations, acting as testing and commissioning lead on complex projects. You will ensure all commissioning activities are performed efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. • Support site testing and commissioning of SCADA systems for substation automation. • Configure MicroSCADA family products (SYS600, SYS600C, Historian, SDM600, DMS600) and related communication protocols (IEC61850, IEC101, IC104, Modbus). • Perform configuration and testing of Substation Automation Systems for high and medium voltage substations. • Manage commissioning activities ensuring quality, timely delivery, cost‑effectiveness, and compliance with safety and contract specifications. • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Production, and other departments as required. • Travel extensively (100% travel) for site testing and commissioning, including short‑notice assignments. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, training, and adherence to regulations and Hitachi core values.

What You Bring
The position requires hands‑on experience with conventional control systems, SCMS, MicroSCADA/RTU applications, and tools such as IET, ITT, Automation Builder, and Multiprong. You must manage commissioning activities to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets, work autonomously or as part of a team, and be willing to travel extensively, often on short notice. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or a diploma), 2‑5 years of experience with MicroSCADA family products, exposure to SYS600 engineering tools, and a solid understanding of IEC61850, IEC101, IC104, LON, SPA, and DPN3 protocols. Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards, IEC62443 cybersecurity standard, strong English communication skills, and proficiency in MS‑Office are also required. • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or a diploma) and 2‑5 years of relevant experience. • Demonstrate hands‑on expertise with SCMS, MicroSCADA/RTU applications, and tools such as IET, ITT, Automation Builder, and Multiprong. • Knowledge of communication protocols IEC61850, IEC101, IC104, LON, SPA, DPN3 and standards IEC, IEEE, ANSI. • Familiarity with IEC62443 cybersecurity standard and strong proficiency in English and MS‑Office. • Ability to work autonomously and within a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
