Quality Engineer (3rd Shift: 11pm-7:30am)
Provides on‑site quality engineering support for manufacturing processes on 3rd shift.

About the Role
The position provides technical support for internal and external customers, ensuring manufacturing processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves reviewing nonconforming material, leading root‑cause and corrective‑action investigations, planning first‑article inspections, and participating in audits and PPAP activities. Collaboration with engineering and operations drives risk identification and mitigation through PFMEA, process flow diagrams, and control plans. • Provide technical support to internal and external customers on escapes, QMS procedures, regulations, and compliance. • Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to quality standards and customer requirements. • Lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations for quality issues. • Plan and review First Article Inspections (FAI). • Participate in internal and external quality system and process audits. • Participate in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities. • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on PFMEA, process flow diagrams, and control plans to identify and mitigate product and process risks.

What You Bring
• Disposition, correct, and close nonconforming material as a Preliminary Reviewer. • Hold a degree in a STEM field (or advanced degree) with at least 2 years experience, or 5 years relevant experience without a degree. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general computer skills. • Experience with continuous improvement systems such as Lean, ACE, or Six Sigma. • Background in Quality, Manufacturing, or Design Engineering, including creating inspection methods and design for manufacturability. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. • Hands‑on experience with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges). • Knowledge of AS 9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems. • Familiarity with structured RCCA methods (DIVE, 8D, fault tree, redX). • Understanding of APQP and PPAP core elements.

Based on‑site in Rome, NY, the role requires reliable transportation, the ability to work on a shop floor, and occasional lifting of up to 40 lb. Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $100,000, supplemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with matching, paid time off, and a referral program.
