About the Role

The Commissioning Oversight Manager leads a team that provides technical review and recommendations on design, specifications, construction, and turnover of projects, ensuring quality and seamless integration into building operations and maintenance. They collaborate with portfolio management, technical team members, third‑party consultants, and contractors. In a leadership capacity, the manager is involved in recruiting, mentoring, coaching, performance management, and compensation recommendations, while fostering continuous improvement of the commissioning oversight delivery process. The role oversees planning, implementation, and management of commissioning oversight activities across the portfolio, handling procedural development, regulatory compliance, risk management, communications, and training program review, and provides operational assistance such as building assessments and capital planning support. The manager coordinates with national and portfolio managers, technical staff, and external specialists, assigns projects to specialists, participates in working groups, and ensures timely reporting and effective communication with internal and external clients. • Lead, recruit, mentor, and evaluate a commissioning oversight team. • Recommend compensation adjustments and manage performance. • Drive continuous improvement of commissioning oversight processes. • Plan, implement, and manage commissioning oversight activities across the project portfolio. • Ensure procedural compliance, regulatory and environmental adherence, risk mitigation, and training program review. • Provide operational support including building assessments and capital planning. • Coordinate with national, portfolio, technical, and property managers and assign projects to specialists. • Participate in national commissioning working groups and deliver required reports. • Maintain effective communication with internal and external clients.

What You Bring

Required knowledge includes a university degree in a related field, 10‑15 years of building operations experience, 5‑10 years in commissioning, strong construction sector understanding, bilingual communication skills, and certifications such as CCP, BCxP, or CBCP, plus a valid driver’s license. • Hold a degree in electrical, mechanical, building systems engineering or related field. • Possess 10‑15 years of building operations and 5‑10 years of commissioning experience. • Demonstrate strong construction knowledge, analytical, problem‑solving, and public speaking skills. • Be fluent in English and French. • Hold Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP, BCxP, or CBCP) certification or be eligible. • Possess a valid driver’s license.
