About the Role

The position is 100 % travel and involves installing, maintaining, and operating wired, wireless, fiber‑optic, and microwave telecom equipment. Technicians climb towers, erect various tower types, handle material off‑loading, site preparation, and assist with helicopter, crane, and gin‑pole tower installations. Additional duties include antenna and transmission‑line installation, structural modifications, and mentoring less‑experienced crew members while adhering to MasTec safety policies and industry standards. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber‑optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Climb towers and ladders to erect various tower types. • Off‑load material, prepare and clean sites, and manage inventory. • Assist tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. • Assemble monopoles, weld and knock‑down self‑support and guyed towers. • Install microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines, foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and waveguide. • Perform foundation, grounding, conduit, and electrical installations. • Mentor less‑experienced technicians and train new hires. • Ensure compliance with MasTec safety policies, OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, and ANSI standards. • Execute structural modifications such as bracing swaps, gusset plate replacements, and anchor rod upgrades. • Conduct welding preparation, elevated welding, and bolt‑on modifications.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a high‑school diploma, at least two years of tower experience, and the ability to read and follow technical prints. Physical requirements include climbing towers, lifting 50 lb, and working up to 12 hours; a valid driver’s license and safety‑standard knowledge are required, with PWSA certification considered a plus. • Maintain physical stamina: lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, and hold a valid driver’s license. • Minimum two years tower experience and high‑school diploma required; PWSA certification a plus.
