About the Role

The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for making, installing, and repairing a wide variety of sheet‑metal products. The individual selects appropriate sheet material, lays out work using blueprints, sketches, work orders, or verbal instructions, and marks reference points using shop mathematics to calculate angles and curves. They cut the flat material and shape it into three‑dimensional forms using hand and power‑driven tools and fabricating machines. Key duties include setting up and operating equipment such as punch presses, power shears, hydraulic and mechanical brakes, and EHRT machines, preparing metal parts and fixtures for fabrication, and reading drawings to operate light metalworking machines like shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses. The fabricator fits and joins sheet‑metal components with rivets, welding, or soldering, grinds and buffs seams, inspects product quality, prints work orders, and moves material with a forklift or pallet jack. • Set up and run punch press, power shear, hydraulic and mechanical power brake, EHRT machine, and other fabrication equipment. • Prepare metal parts, fixtures, and equipment for fabrication. • Read drawings, sketches, and work orders to guide fabrication. • Operate light metalworking machines (shears, brakes, punches, drill presses) to cut, bend, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal. • Fit and join sheet metal parts using rivets, welding, soldering, or similar equipment. • Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces. • Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications. • Print work orders, check revision levels, and print dispatch lists. • Move material using a forklift or pallet jack.

What You Bring

Candidates must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship and reside within 50 miles of the work site (active‑duty military are exempt). A high school diploma or GED is required, along with experience handling weld‑light, heavy‑gauge aluminum, stainless steel, and brass. The role requires the ability to develop stretch‑outs, shear cuts, and layouts, meet production standards, perform quality inspections, lift up to 40 lb, and stand for extended periods.
