About the Role

The Lead Quality Specialist – Manufacturing Improvement (Master Black Belt) role at Baker Hughes is a Lean Leader manufacturing engineer position that supports solving complex technical problems in production, makes key decisions, resolves issues, and oversees project enhancements while uniting cross‑functional teams to share knowledge and drive innovation. In this role you will develop operational plans for manufacturing activities, suggest improvements, standardize processes, and provide guidelines for the plant to choose the right actions, all while driving Lean initiatives across the organization. • Drive Lean Manufacturing activities and deploy Lean methods, tools, and roadmaps. • Lead kaizen events, value‑stream improvements, and Lean capability‑building initiatives. • Manage medium‑scale improvement projects and contribute to major transformations. • Coach leaders and teams on Lean principles, visual management, and problem‑solving. • Develop continuous improvement (CI) training and simulations, building a pipeline of Lean practitioners and CI champions through Gemba coaching. • Mentor Green Belts, Black Belts, engineers, and leaders on Lean, Six Sigma, and advanced quality tools. • Work flexible hours, adjusting daily schedule to maximize productivity. • Offer contemporary work‑life balance policies and wellbeing activities. • Provide tailored financial programs and additional elected or voluntary benefits.

What You Bring

Success requires an engineering or related technical degree, extensive experience in manufacturing, operations, quality, supply chain, or OpEx, a proven record of leading Lean transformations with measurable KPI impact, Lean/Six Sigma certification (preferably Master Black Belt), proficiency with Lean tools, strong analytical skills using Power BI, MES, and ERP, and excellent facilitation and stakeholder management abilities. • Hold an engineering, operations, supply chain, industrial engineering, or related technical degree. • Possess significant experience in manufacturing, operations, quality, supply chain, or OpEx roles. • Demonstrate proven success in leading Lean transformations with measurable KPI impact. • Hold a Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt; Master Black Belt is ideal. • Be proficient with Lean tools such as value‑stream mapping, standard work, SMED, 5S, TPM, and structured problem‑solving. • Have a strong track record of coaching leaders and developing CI capability across teams. • Exhibit strong analytical skills with hands‑on experience in Power BI, MES, and ERP systems. • Demonstrate excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
