About the Role
The Product Support Engineer – Rail reports to the Supervisor, Site Team Leader or Team Leader, depending on the role. The position is responsible for conducting and supporting routine maintenance and repairs on MTU rail products, adhering to approved manuals and contract requirements. Embracing digitalisation is also a key expectation. The engineer will carry out preventive, scheduled and corrective maintenance in line with the maintenance schedule and contractual obligations, while actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include planning maintenance tasks, attending customer meetings for work sign‑off, completing accurate documentation, and participating in the company's HSQE processes. The role also involves maintaining site cleanliness, undertaking training, working 24/7 shift patterns with on‑call duties, and operating as a mobile engineer when required. • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance per schedule, manuals, and contract. • Participate in continuous improvement and suggest process enhancements. • Conduct planned maintenance following operating instructions. • Attend customer meetings to obtain work sign‑off and complete documentation. • Engage in HSQE management processes and maintain site cleanliness. • Undertake local and factory training to keep skills current. • Participate in 24/7 shift work and on‑call duties, including mobile engineering. • Accurately report parts usage to control inventory. • Utilize IT systems such as Go!Care, C4S, eWeb, Go!Manage, Diasys, Outlook. • Write clear business letters, emails, and detailed technical reports.

What You Bring
A solid engineering background with relevant qualifications is essential, together with a proactive, flexible attitude and strong initiative. The individual must work well with others, demonstrate outstanding safety awareness, and possess good organisational skills. The candidate should be computer literate, proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable using specialised IT systems such as Go!Care, C4S, eWeb, Go!Manage and Diasys. Strong written communication skills are required for business letters, emails and detailed technical reports; on‑the‑job training will be provided for SAP and the MTU Business Portal. • Hold engineering qualifications with proactive, flexible attitude and strong safety awareness. • Demonstrate strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Email).
