About the Role
Key responsibilities include leading and delivering SHEQ and ESG components of tender responses, reviewing contractual requirements to identify risks and opportunities, and providing SHEQ/ESG support to work‑winning teams. The role also involves identifying critical SHEQ risks, collaborating to de‑risk proposals, building strategic stakeholder relationships, and proposing SHEQ innovations to enhance proposal value. Additionally, the incumbent will develop a library of standardised SHEQ responses and may support mobilisation or demobilisation teams as needed. • Lead and deliver SHEQ and ESG components of tender responses and work‑winning activities. • Review contractual requirements to identify risks and opportunities for Ventia. • Provide SHEQ/ESG guidance to work‑winning teams and de‑risk proposals. • Identify and manage critical SHEQ risks within contracts. • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Propose SHEQ innovations to enhance proposal value. • Develop and maintain a library of standardised SHEQ responses. • Support mobilisation/demobilisation teams as required. • Apply strong analytical and reporting abilities to generate insights and professional documentation.

What You Bring
Ventia’s Group SHEQ team have a newly created position for a Pre Contracts Lead to partner with operations, providing leadership, advice and support in the development of SHEQ responses for work winning opportunities across the enterprise. This role ensures SHEQ content is sufficiently detailed and addresses the requirements for submission and adds value to Ventia’s outcomes. The position is a permanent full‑time role, can be based in any Australian state, and is open to experienced candidates as well as those with a developing understanding of SHEQ who are eager to grow. The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, Quality or Environmental Management (not essential) and demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement, strong analytical ability, and high‑level reporting skills. Experience partnering with bid teams, deep knowledge of operational processes, risk management and compliance frameworks, and excellent written and verbal communication are required. A positive, hands‑on approach and enthusiasm for shaping a new team are also valued. • Hold tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, Quality or Environmental Management (preferred). • Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. • Communicate complex information clearly in written and verbal formats.
