About the Role
The Fleet Manager will oversee the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment at WM’s Pitts South Hauling site in Elizabeth, PA, focusing on market‑base profitability through effective fleet and maintenance management, cost control, and high training and safety standards. The role supervises three Technicians, one Lead Technician, and one Operations Support staff, managing approximately 30 vehicles. Work hours are Monday‑Friday with occasional Saturdays. Key responsibilities include ensuring safe and reliable vehicles are available, conducting fleet evaluations, and managing maintenance managers to drive performance and cost efficiency. The manager reviews capital equipment requisitions, optimizes vehicle asset utilization, ensures maintenance shops are properly staffed and mechanics trained, and leverages vehicle management systems while complying with WM’s Mission to Zero standards. Additional duties involve meeting financial review deadlines, supporting the budgeting process, maintaining shop cleanliness, overseeing hiring, coaching, performance evaluation, and providing training and presentations. The position primarily operates in a professional office environment and involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. • Ensure safe, reliable fleet of ~30 vehicles meets operational needs. • Conduct fleet evaluations and enforce maintenance standards. • Lead and develop technicians and support staff. • Manage maintenance managers to control costs and improve performance. • Review capital equipment requests according to corporate guidelines. • Optimize vehicle asset utilization and maintenance shop staffing. • Implement vehicle management systems and adhere to Mission to Zero standards. • Meet all financial review deadlines and assist with budgeting. • Foster a positive, team‑oriented environment through coaching and development. • Oversee personnel actions, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and discipline. • Provide training and presentations as needed.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree (or a high school diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience), at least five years of related experience, and a valid driver’s license.
