About the Role
The manager will provide project management and design leadership while maintaining strong customer relationships. Responsibilities include technical electrical support, design review for contract compliance, coordination with engineers, operational analysis, and troubleshooting performance issues. The role also involves onsite electrical support, mentoring field personnel, fostering teamwork, ensuring safety compliance, and producing detailed reports. • Provide technical electrical support • Review design documents for contract compliance and resolve issues • Review contractual design, commissioning, testing, and turnover requirements • Coordinate plans and specifications with engineers, clarifying discrepancies • Provide operational analysis and technical guidance for troubleshooting performance issues • Update and guide customers on project performance concerns • Advise project teams on contractual scope of issues • Simplify complex technical issues for non‑technical audiences • Provide onsite support to the electrical team • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and superintendents • Establish and nurture a teamwork environment • Ensure crews have technical resources and support • Provide work direction and identify hiring needs; participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions • Develop leadership potential through task assignments and career growth opportunities • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program on site • Assist with technical troubleshooting during commissioning as needed • Produce reports, including Sequence of Operation instructions for equipment use • Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels • Lead by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, manage performance • Drive complex Energy Storage performance issues to completion with trade partners and customers

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or possess 15+ years of equivalent experience, along with at least eight years of construction management or commissioning experience. Required expertise includes the full project delivery process, mastery of commissioning levels L0‑L5, and comprehensive knowledge of building systems across disciplines. Strong multitasking, leadership, customer service, and travel abilities are essential. • Understand PPA and interconnection design, testing, and turnover requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, OR 15+ years equivalent field experience • Minimum eight years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP contractor or commissioning firm • Expert understanding of design, construction, start‑up, commissioning, and turnover alignment within project delivery • Mastery of the commissioning process (L0‑L5) and solid knowledge of key construction documents and QA/QC relationships • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems across disciplines; depth in at least one discipline such as HVAC, plumbing/piping, electrical, lighting, instrumentation, controls, or building envelope • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, delegate, and balance workload within a team • Proven positive, professional attitude with excellent customer service, coaching, and leadership skills • Ability to travel as required • Strong communication skills to simplify technical issues for non‑technical audiences
