About the Role
Key responsibilities include reviewing system designs, creating and overseeing startup and commissioning procedures, performing QA/QC on installations, conducting construction observations, developing functional test plans, and executing tests to ensure compliance with standards. What You Bring
BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to work remotely from Ireland or the Netherlands, with up to 75% national and international travel. The role involves commissioning mission‑critical data‑center equipment such as power generation and distribution systems, UPS, static transfer switches, PDUs, BAS/BMS, and HVAC. Candidates must have a solid knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical systems and be proficient with test equipment including AC/DC amp probes, digital voltmeters, phase rotation meters, battery conductance and load testers, and micro‑ohm meters. Applicants need at least seven years of experience in electrical power distribution, mechanical systems, or both, plus five years specifically in commissioning, and must hold an AA degree, military training, or equivalent experience. Required skills include troubleshooting construction and operational issues, strong written and oral communication, proficiency with MS Word and Excel, knowledge of building codes, AutoCAD, and commissioning standards such as BCA, PECI, and ASHRAE. A passport, ability to travel extensively, and experience in sectors like hospitals, biotech, data centers, or energy analysis are preferred.
