Janitor

About the Role

The janitorial associate is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the plant and office areas. Primary tasks include sweeping, scrubbing floors, emptying waste containers, cleaning washrooms, and performing additional duties such as window washing, wall cleaning, and painting when needed. The role also involves managing swarf disposal, storing and distributing cleaning supplies, operating equipment like sweepers, scrubbers, tractors, and lift trucks, and providing assistance to maintenance staff as directed. Compliance with ethics, safety, environmental, and ISO 9000 standards is required. • Sweep and scrub floors in plant and office areas • Empty and clean all waste receptacles • Wash windows, clean walls, and perform painting as required • Dispose of swarf and keep dry swarf cleared to prevent fire hazards • Store and distribute janitorial supplies throughout the shop • Operate power equipment, including sweepers, scrubbers, tractors, and lift trucks • Assist maintenance personnel as directed by the supervisor • Follow ethics, safety, environmental compliance, and ISO 9000 standards
