About the Role

Drivers operate a variety of heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear lift mechanisms, transporting waste, recyclables, or roll‑off containers to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. Depending on the route, drivers may handle residential pickups, commercial containers exceeding 1,000 lb, or large open‑top containers on industrial routes, all of which require precise backing and maneuvering. All duties are performed in accordance with WM safety policies, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local, state, and federal laws. Drivers complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, report unsafe conditions or incidents, and keep detailed end‑of‑day documentation while maintaining clean customer sites. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste or recyclables to disposal sites. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Follow WM safety policies, OSHA, DOT regulations, and all applicable laws while driving. • Report incidents, service interruptions, and customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Maintain clean customer locations after dumping and adhere to assigned routes. • Assist other drivers as needed to meet customer service demands.

What You Bring

Applicants must have at least one year of experience operating a Class A or B commercial vehicle (or equivalent military driving) within the past seven years, be at least 18 years old, possess a valid CDL with air‑brake endorsement, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, reflecting the physical nature of waste‑collection work.
