About the Role
The engineer will assist in designing site plans, utilities, drainage, and grading solutions, collaborating with civil and architectural staff. Site visits will be performed to document conditions and identify challenges specific to athletic and educational facilities, and findings will be reported. Using AutoCAD and related software, the engineer will modify and update design drawings, develop civil plans for sports fields, stormwater management, transportation access, and utility layouts. Technical support includes preparing engineering calculations, storm sewer sizing, water distribution, and sanitary sewer designs. Collaboration with engineers, architects, landscape architects, contractors, and stakeholders ensures alignment of civil designs with architectural goals. The engineer will also research applicable codes and regulations, contribute to environmentally responsible and energy‑efficient projects, and prepare technical documentation and presentation materials for senior review. Project support responsibilities cover cost estimating, schedule coordination, submittal review, responding to contractor RFIs, conducting periodic site observations, and preparing observation reports. What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET‑accredited program and possess 2‑5 years of A/E/C experience. An Engineering Intern license is required, with a Florida PE exam passed preferred, and the expectation of obtaining a professional engineering license. The ideal applicant is highly proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and stormwater design tools such as StormWise, StormCAD, or WaterCAD, and is comfortable using the MS Office suite. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment are essential. • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET‑accredited university. • 2‑5 years of post‑graduation experience in the A/E/C industry. • Engineering Intern (EI) license; Florida PE exam passed preferred with intent to obtain PE license. • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and stormwater design software (StormWise, StormCAD, WaterCAD). • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. • Familiarity with land development codes, environmental regulations, and construction processes.
