About the Role

• Perform visual inspection of material as required. • Conduct layout checks as needed. • Execute rotational capacity tests on bolts before shop use. • Collaborate with outside inspectors to resolve floor quality issues. • Monitor welder qualification tests. • Record welding parameters to ensure compliance with approved WPS. • Read and interpret welding codes and specifications. • Perform dimensional checks on laydowns and shop assemblies; use Total Station when needed. • Develop improvements in the quality control process to facilitate shop workflow. • Conduct audits of the Quality Management System. • Ensure work maintains quality flow through the shop. • Work with welders and leadmen to uphold quality standards. • Remain reachable via radio to perform necessary checks. • Maintain a log of work performed and complete required reports. • Interpret specifications and applicable codes. • Coordinate inspection of QC hold points between production and DOT inspectors. • Promote and use safe working habits. • Effectively communicate results, evaluate problems, and propose corrections, solutions, and schedules to crews, supervisors, and the Quality Manager. • Understand and interpret blueprints; use measurement tools to verify geometric tolerances of fabricated parts and assemblies. • Apply strong attention to detail and make informed decisions based on project codes and specifications. • Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure loads are inspected and ready to ship. • Plan work and time with supervisors to facilitate quality flow in each shop. • Utilize general working knowledge of Total Station to assist crews and finalize assemblies during off‑shifts. • Maintain a positive attitude to promote team morale and coach employees for improved workmanship quality.

What You Bring

Openings are available in Eau Claire, WI on all shifts. Applicants must hold a current CWI or ASNT VT Level II certification. Relocation assistance may be provided. • Flexibly work early or late within the assigned shift as needed. • Hold Certified Welding Inspector certification or ASNT VT Level II. • Possess ASNT MT Level II qualification (preferred). • Possess ASNT UT Level II qualification (preferred). • Hold NACE or SSPC BCI Level I certification (preferred). • Have fabrication shop background (preferred).
