About the Role

The Operator – Heavy Equipment is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station, performing tasks such as transferring, spreading, covering, loading, and compacting waste or soil efficiently and safely. The operator performs pre- and post‑operation inspections to ensure equipment windows, lights, mirrors and rear‑view cameras are clean, monitors waste for unacceptable material, and continuously checks equipment condition, cleaning tracks or wheels as needed. They safely operate forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, front‑end loaders and other machinery following safety standards, document minor service, refer complex repairs to the Maintenance Shop, complete equipment condition reports, keep the shop clean at shift end, and perform other assigned duties.

What You Bring

The role requires good customer service, professional and courteous interaction with customers and co‑workers, strong time‑management and follow‑through abilities, adherence to company policies and safety standards, and pride in workmanship. Candidates must have at least two years of heavy‑equipment operating experience and one year working at OSHA‑regulated sites.
