About the Role
The PTES Deputy Program Manager will join a systems‑engineering team defining next‑generation space communication systems, supporting Systems Engineering & Integration activities in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The role includes interfacing with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians, and USSF personnel, leading working groups, and authoring briefings and meeting minutes. • Serve as primary deputy to PTES Program Manager, overseeing cost, schedule, and technical performance. • Coordinate with government, contractors, and mission partners to meet program objectives and milestones. • Lead daily PMO operations: prioritize tasks, coordinate stakeholders, track progress, resolve issues. • Align integrated master schedule between government and contractor teams, managing dependencies and critical paths. • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, acquisition strategies, budget plans, and execution documents. • Facilitate program reviews to ensure technical readiness, risk mitigation, and mission assurance. • Interface with cross‑functional teams (engineering, modeling & simulation, test, cybersecurity, logistics, contracting) for synchronized execution. • Manage contractor performance evaluations, award fee comments, contract modifications, and work authorizations. • Lead or support risk, issue, and opportunity (RIO) management, creating mitigation plans and tracking closure. • Prepare decision briefs, acquisition packages, milestone documentation, and leadership updates for SSC and PEO reviews. • Engage external programs and enterprise partners to align PTES with MILSATCOM architecture and enterprise roadmaps. • Represent PMO in technical interchange meetings, working groups, program management reviews, and cross‑program coordination forums. • Support budget planning, programming, and execution (POM/BES) to align funds with priorities. • Oversee process improvements, workflow streamlining, and PMO tool development to enhance transparency and efficiency. • Mentor and guide project officers, engineers, analysts, and support staff throughout PTES program. • Ensure compliance with Space Force acquisition policies, cybersecurity requirements, configuration management, and data rights.

What You Bring
The position is on‑site with moderate travel and standard working hours. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance, possess a bachelor’s degree with 25+ years experience or a master’s with 20+ years (or equivalent), and have experience with space‑based communications, systems engineering, and overseeing development contracts. • Active TS/SCI clearance and eligibility for Continuous Evaluation. • Bachelor of Science with 25+ years experience, or Master of Science with 20+ years (or equivalent combination). • Experience with space‑based communications systems, military or satellite ground systems. • Background in technical requirements development, systems engineering, integration, technology development, and contract oversight. • Additional advanced degrees (master’s, PhD) are a plus.

Benefits
Base salary ranges from $183,000 to $229,000 in California, with the final rate based on knowledge, skills, abilities and internal parity.
