About the Role
Key responsibilities include serving as a senior technical advisor, providing specialized input to studies and designs, developing procedures for high‑quality cost‑effective work, participating in interdisciplinary reviews, preparing construction cost estimates, performing quality control of design calculations or drawings, preparing technical specification sections, and contributing to engineering budget and schedule development. • Serve as senior technical advisor and lead large design teams for secondary substation projects. • Provide specialized input for studies, designs, and interdisciplinary project reviews. • Develop procedures, cost estimates, and quality‑control reviews for PS&E packages. • Prepare technical specifications and contribute to engineering budgets and schedules. • Work hybrid with at least three days per week on‑site at an AECOM office.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) and has 8‑12 years of experience, including leading large design engineering teams for grid substation projects in a global consultancy, mandatory HV plant design experience for large EHV grid substations, and preferred exposure to grid utilities, substation protection and control schemes, international standards, GIS/AIS secondary design, chartered status, and strong English communication skills. • Hold a Master’s degree in engineering with 8‑12 years of relevant experience. • Demonstrated expertise in HV plant design for EHV grid substations and substation protection schemes. • Experience with international standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI) and GIS/AIS secondary design. • Chartered status (IET‑UK, EA) and strong English communication skills.
