About the Role
Project, Commercial & Programme Management (PMCM) at WSP delivers successful project outcomes through integrated management of scope, cost, schedule and risk, using structured methodologies and digital tools across a portfolio that includes highways, rail, urban infrastructure, energy, water, wind, carbon capture, nuclear and defence projects. The role of Project Director / Project Management Technical Director is a senior leadership position within the rapidly growing PMCM business, responsible for strategic direction, oversight of complex programmes and the development of high‑performing project management teams across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will build organisational capability, set standards, develop talent pipelines, mentor senior leaders, and act as a trusted adviser to clients, driving growth opportunities and supporting net‑zero and sustainability ambitions while balancing strategic leadership with hands‑on project oversight. • Provide strategic direction and oversight for large, complex infrastructure programmes. • Build and develop high‑performing project management teams, setting standards and talent pipelines. • Act as a trusted adviser to clients, strengthening relationships and identifying growth opportunities, especially for net‑zero initiatives. • Mentor senior project leaders, manage succession planning and capability development. • Lead portfolio performance, cost, margin management and NEC3/4 ECC contract administration. • Oversee resource planning, workforce forecasting and organisational structures to support sustainable growth.
