About the Role
The role involves resolving technical accounting application issues, partnering with business units and external auditors to close accounting matters, and providing functional assurance for material investments and customer bids. You will maintain and communicate the Group Finance Manual, lead the implementation of new accounting standards, and ensure that audit committee papers and financial statements are compliant with IFRS. Supporting cross‑functional teams on M&A activity and acting as an advocate for financial control are also key elements of the position. • Resolve technical accounting issues across the business, both proactively and as they arise. • Provide expertise on IFRS‑compliant accounting treatments and maintain the Group Finance Manual. • Collaborate with business units and external auditors to close accounting matters in a timely manner. • Deliver functional assurance for material investments and customer bids. • Lead implementation of new accounting standards and externally issued best‑practice guidance. • Produce high‑quality audit committee papers and ensure IFRS compliance of financial statements. • Support M&A activities by supplying financial expertise to cross‑functional teams. • Influence and mentor stakeholders with strong communication and leadership skills. • Stay current on accounting standards and assess their impact on the Group. • Champion financial control by challenging the integrity and accuracy of reporting.

What You Bring
We are looking for a professional accountant with deep IFRS expertise and preferably an external audit background. The successful candidate will have extensive experience applying accounting standards to complex transactions, a track record of delivering within tight deadlines, and strong problem‑solving and judgement skills. Excellent communication, leadership and influencing abilities are essential, as is alignment with Rolls‑Royce’s principles of safety, integrity, simplicity and making a difference.
