About the Role
The Senior Product Manager, Lease Accounting will join the CoStar Real Estate Manager and Visual Lease teams to develop cutting‑edge lease accounting and portfolio management solutions for thousands of global customers. Acting as the subject‑matter expert, the role will collaborate with partners, product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features that meet complex accounting standards such as ASC 842, IFRS 16, and GASB 87 while maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction. • Organize and share lease accounting best practices; stay current on domestic and international lease accounting standards. • Engage external stakeholders (customers, prospects, analysts) and internal teams (sales, support, implementation) to identify roadblocks and needs. • Capture, groom, and prioritize lease accounting backlog items; use analytics to track product performance and recommend prioritization. • Design scalable lease accounting functionality; document technical requirements; collaborate with designers, product leadership, and engineering. • Develop acceptance criteria, lead user acceptance testing, and work with QA to resolve defects. • Lead feature demos, recommend training approaches, ensure GTM materials reflect functionality, and monitor adoption via analytics and support cases.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field and have at least five years of GAAP or lease accounting experience, plus three years in a product‑management or business‑analysis capacity. They should be familiar with financial reporting, audit processes, and regulatory compliance, and be able to translate complex accounting requirements into clear, actionable tasks while communicating effectively with both technical and business audiences. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. • 5+ years GAAP/lease accounting experience (ASC 842, IFRS 16, etc.) and 3+ years product management or business analysis experience. • Familiarity with financial reporting, audit processes, and regulatory compliance for public and private entities. • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex requirements into actionable tasks. • Preferred: Master’s degree or CPA; accounting‑focused product management experience; ability to lead engineering ceremonies and make confident decisions.
