Equipment Specialist-Crane Maintenance and Asset Management

About the Role
• Coordinate, track, and execute maintenance and utilization plans for Mortenson-owned cranes. • Manage crane assignments, location tracking, transportation between jobsites, and winter storage planning. • Monitor annual certifications, preventative maintenance schedules, and repair work. • Track and support maintenance of crane support equipment such as jibs, wire rope, track pads, lights, data loggers, spare parts, crane mats, and related inventory. • Serve as point of contact for project and crane superintendents needing advanced maintenance or troubleshooting support. • Track downed cranes, document issues, monitor repair status, and communicate resolution paths. • Conduct trend analysis and provide feedback to operators to prevent recurring issues. • Coordinate with vendors to expedite repairs, secure parts, or identify replacement equipment. • Inspect Mortenson-owned cranes and equipment on project sites and at vendor facilities. • Provide subject‑matter expertise to other Equipment Specialists and integrate crane‑related maintenance data into systems. • Partner with project teams to ensure crane availability and reliability for schedules. • Draft vendor lease agreements and contracts. • Participate in equipment facility safety program, including environmental surveys and Mortenson's Zero Injury policy. • Effectively work and build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

What You Bring
The role is based in Minneapolis, MN, and requires regular travel (15‑20%) to Mortenson project sites and vendor locations to perform hands‑on inspections, coordination, and resolution of maintenance issues. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position; candidates must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of rental equipment, construction, or professional experience, or a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Superior attention to detail and accuracy. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. • Ability to assess and prioritize multiple customer needs. • Working knowledge of purchasing/rental processes and procedures. • Strong organization and planning skills. • Ability to influence and communicate effectively, including active listening and openness to diverse input. • Ability to travel 15‑20% to jobsites and vendor locations. • Experience with billing software (preferred). • Experience in demand, utilization, and/or financial forecasting and analysis (preferred).

Benefits
The base pay range for this role is $69,500 – $93,900, with higher ranges for certain locations (Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Washington, D.C.).
