About the Role

• Lead multidisciplinary hydraulic and water resources design teams as senior technical leader. • Provide strategic direction and oversight for complex infrastructure projects, from small improvements to multi‑phase programs. • Manage project delivery: define scope, develop budgets, create schedules, and coordinate with clients to meet regulatory requirements. • Produce and review hydraulic design deliverables, including hydrologic analyses, bridge scour assessments, drainage, erosion control, water‑quality systems, and ERP permitting. • Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and foster professional growth. • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to maintain schedules and budgets while supporting business development through proposals and client engagement. • Contribute to internal best‑practice development, quality assurance/quality control, and represent HDR at professional conferences and industry committees. • Work collaboratively in an office setting and actively participate in HDR’s employee‑owned culture.

What You Bring

• Hold a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (preferred) and a Bachelor’s degree (required). • Have at least 10 years of roadway engineering design experience and a professional engineering license (PE/P.Eng). • Demonstrate strong leadership, project management, and written/oral communication skills. • Possess experience with hydraulic engineering, hydraulic modeling programs, and existing relationships with FDOT or municipal clients (preferred).
