About the Role
• Manage overall financial health of projects, including budgeting and cost control. • Lead EPC contract negotiations, preparing technical exhibits, scope of work, and schedules. • Direct vendor procurement and bid/award phases, creating RFPs, evaluating risks, and negotiating contracts. • Develop and maintain project financial and equipment forecasts. • Allocate project estimates in the financial system, assign cost codes, approve invoices, and oversee budget decisions. • Provide financial data and monthly owner billings to Accounting for timely payments. • Manage subcontracts, suppliers, and trade partner selections. • Handle contract buyouts, change orders, and obtain necessary approvals from owners or architects. • Supervise Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, assigning tasks and supporting career development. • Approve timecards and deliver performance feedback to on‑site team members. • Serve as primary contact for owners and on‑site representatives, resolving site concerns and fostering relationships. • Ensure compliance with construction law, Mortenson policies, and safety standards.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Manager for its Data Center Structured Cabling Team. The role requires interaction with staff at all levels, flexibility in a changing environment, and a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. The Project Manager will lead projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, safety, and will mentor the project team while developing strong customer relationships. The position involves 100% travel on a rotating schedule, with opportunities across the United States. Primary locations include California, New Mexico, Wyoming, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Frequent travel supports on‑site project oversight and client engagement. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship; Mortenson does not sponsor employment visas. Job postings typically remain open for a minimum of five days, averaging 44 days.
