About the Role

Recent work includes re‑meandering design and construction supervision on Rivers Breamish, Eye and Cocker, nature‑recovery and wetland restoration in Northumberland, landscape‑scale river restoration in the North York Moors, weir removals and fish passes across the UK, and river‑basin scale restoration planning for the Environment Agency and water companies. • Lead planning, modelling, and design of sustainable geomorphology and river restoration schemes. • Manage detailed design, construction supervision, and CDM compliance for river re‑meandering, weir removal, and fish‑pass projects. • Conduct hydraulic, sediment transport, and geomorphological modelling and flood/landslide hazard analyses. • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, coach junior staff, and maintain client relationships and commercial aspects. • Deliver project management tasks across UK, Ireland and international sites, ensuring health, safety and environmental standards. • Support inclusive workplace with disability‑confident recruitment and reasonable accommodation.

What You Bring

We are seeking an experienced Geomorphologist and River Restoration Project Lead for our UK Water team. The role involves high‑quality project delivery, including planning, modelling, design and supervision of sustainable geomorphology and river restoration schemes. You will work with regulators, water companies, trusts, estate managers and developers on national and international projects. The position requires expertise in geomorphology and hydromorphology, river engineering, hydraulic and sediment‑transport modelling, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams under CDM regulations. You will also provide coaching to peers and junior staff while maintaining client contact and commercial responsibilities. The ideal candidate holds a degree in geography, physical sciences, engineering or a related discipline, and has proven experience in river restoration and project delivery. Excellent communication, engagement and leadership skills with multi‑discipline technical teams, clients and stakeholders are essential. • Hold a degree in geography, physical sciences, engineering or a related field. • Demonstrated experience in river restoration and project delivery. • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership abilities.
