About the Role
Key responsibilities include undertaking mechanical fitting, repairs and minor machinery maintenance to support base‑specific PAS activities. You will ensure plant, equipment and systems are maintained to required standards through responsive and preventative maintenance. Your trade expertise will help maintain operational readiness, manage hazards and risks, and support a safe, compliant working environment. • Perform mechanical fitting, repairs, and minor machinery maintenance for base-specific PAS activities. • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment to required standards. • Ensure operational readiness while managing hazards, risks, and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.

What You Bring
The role will commence in February 2026 and is open to candidates from any background, whether they bring Defence experience, industry knowledge or transferable skills from other sectors. We seek individuals who are passionate about contributing to Defence capability and want to be part of a high‑performing, inclusive team. We require post‑trade experience in mechanical fitting or maintenance services, as well as demonstrated experience in preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment. A Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade is essential, and certifications such as Confined Space Entry and White Card are desirable. Candidates must hold a current open driver’s licence and be able to obtain and retain Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship required). • Hold post‑trade experience and a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade. • Possess certifications such as Confined Space Entry, White Card (desirable), and a current open driver’s licence. • Obtain and retain Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship required). • Demonstrate strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to high‑quality outcomes.
