About the Role
The driver safely operates a heavy‑duty truck on assigned transfer routes, complying with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations while keeping the vehicle clean and safe. Pre‑ and post‑trip inspections are performed using a Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, and any unsafe conditions or service calls must be reported immediately to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. Drivers also participate in scheduled training, cooperate with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency, and assist other drivers as directed. Additional responsibilities include notifying management of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage, reporting blocked containers or missed pick‑ups, and communicating customer requests. Drivers must fully dump containers, leave customer sites free of debris, position containers properly, and complete all required documentation and customer tickets. At the end of each route, drivers check‑in and submit paperwork as assigned. • Operate heavy‑duty truck on transfer routes safely and in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all regulatory requirements. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections using DVIR and report any issues promptly. • Report unsafe situations, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Communicate customer requests, blocked containers, or missed pick‑ups to Dispatch/Operations Manager. • Fully dump containers, clean customer sites, position containers correctly, and complete required documentation and tickets. • Follow assigned route schedules, assist other drivers as needed, and attend required training and briefings.

What You Bring
No supervisory duties are required for this position. Qualifications include at least three years of experience driving a DZ truck (not a delivery or bus vehicle), a valid DZ or Class 3 (CDL) licence, and legal eligibility to work in Canada with a SIN. Applicants must pass a pre‑employment drug screen, physical, background check, and have an acceptable driving record. • Maintain a valid DZ or Class 3 (CDL) licence with at least three years of DZ truck experience. • Possess legal eligibility to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number. • Pass pre‑employment drug screening, physical examination, background check, and have an acceptable driving record.

This is a union position at the Wentworth hauling site with a starting wage of $36.13 per hour. Shift start times are 3 am, 4 am, 5 am, or 3 pm, and employees work 10‑12‑hour days four days a week, with options for Tuesday‑Saturday or Sunday‑Thursday schedules. Summer months may require daily overtime of 11‑12 hours, six days a week, and overtime is paid at time‑and‑a‑half on weekends and after the standard shift length.
