About the Role

The opportunity involves leading engineering assignments of low to medium complexity, covering small, medium, and large projects while ensuring cost‑effective delivery in line with contract specifications and quality standards. Based on customer technical specifications and inputs from the OU Engineering team, you will prepare substation layouts, grounding and lightning system drawings, cable routings, bills of material, and RFQs. Additional tasks include vetting vendor offers, estimating engineering hours, conducting site visits, and performing technical risk and opportunity assessments. The primary deliverables focus on AIS and GIS substation projects, adhering to international standards such as IEC, IEEE and AS. You will create detailed substation layout and section drawings, grounding and lightning designs, cable and tray routing, and clearance drawings, as well as manage auxiliary design aspects like LVAC/LVDC supplies, cable sizing, and battery charger sizing. Verification of technical data sheets for primary equipment—including circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers and power transformers—is required. Vendor offer evaluations and FAT/SAT of primary equipment are also part of the scope. • Lead engineering assignments for low‑to‑medium complexity projects and tenders. • Prepare substation layouts, grounding & lightning designs, cable routings, BOMs and RFQs. • Vet vendor offers, estimate engineering hours, conduct site visits and risk assessments. • Deliver AIS & GIS project documentation adhering to IEC, IEEE and AS standards. • Design auxiliary systems including LVAC/LVDC supplies, cable sizing, and battery charger sizing. • Verify technical data sheets for primary equipment such as circuit breakers and transformers. • Evaluate vendor proposals and perform FAT/SAT of primary equipment. • Propose and implement innovative solutions to reduce engineering effort. • Maintain and improve quality systems while supporting OPEX initiatives. • Ensure compliance with all external and internal regulations and uphold safety and integrity values. • Work independently with high ownership and collaborate across global teams.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s or diploma in Electrical Engineering and possess 7–12 years of relevant experience. Proficiency with CAD design tools such as BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation/AutoCAD, Revit and 3‑D modeling is required, together with solid knowledge of IEEE and IEC standards and substation tendering processes. The ideal candidate works independently, demonstrates high ownership, is dynamic, proactive and a team player ready to engage globally.
