About the Role

The Account Manager must ensure satisfactory delivery of services against contractual terms and conditions, meeting and exceeding client expectations and ensuring the contractual expectations of BGIS are achieved. They ensure the availability of all critical systems to minimise the risk to the client’s business. They also ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with client and company policies and procedures and within health and safety legislative requirements. • Ensure client satisfaction levels remain high and develop the contract to increase portfolio responsibilities • Handle day‑to‑day enquiries from BGIS team, subcontractors, and clients • Maintain and demonstrate in‑depth contract knowledge to achieve contractual P&L targets and report in monthly reviews • Keep sub‑contractor documentation up to date and compliant • Meet contractually agreed KPI/SLA requirements • Produce timely monthly reports on contractual performance, budget variations, and corrective measures • Attend regular strategic contractual/operational meetings with the client • Arrange non‑critical or technical sub‑contractor visits • Liaise with suppliers and sub‑contractors to obtain pricing and delivery details • Maintain all equipment to the highest standard • Work closely with the Account Manager on team HR issues and disciplinary processes • Complete reactive and PPM work orders promptly, meeting KPI/SLA standards • Achieve Health and Safety compliance across contracts and meet reporting obligations • Generate financial and statistical reports for the contract portfolio • Ensure subcontractors perform at the highest level and conduct regular performance reviews • Develop and meet training plans for the engineering team • Identify, quote, and execute extra works to meet account P&L targets • Deploy and use company processes and systems correctly on site • Effectively manage engineering teams, including performance management, recruitment, development, appraisals, succession planning, and welfare • Develop and meet training plans for management and engineering teams • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to contract managers and engineering teams to deliver top‑class service • Present contractual and financial information to clients and BGIS management in boardroom format • Balance staffing levels and cost reduction while ensuring service excellence and disaster recovery capability • Maintain a customer‑focused approach and strong relationships with key client contacts • Create a learning environment with appropriate training and development planning to ensure competence and growth • Assist with inductions of new site staff • Promote and support BGIS core values • Develop a strong succession plan • Provide cover for contract managers and manage their holiday requirements • Act as line manager to Contract Managers • Keep the Service Director briefed and updated on all issues • Be available 24/7 as point of escalation to the client team, ensuring continuity of updates and incident management • Work to Planned Preventative Maintenance regimes • Install electrical services

What You Bring

• Preferred education: HNC/BTEC/Degree level with strong written and spoken English and good mathematical skills • Recognised technical qualification • Strong management and leadership skills • Ability to communicate at all levels • Knowledge and promotion of safety procedures and policies • Demonstrate diligence in safe working for self and occupants • Formal qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical engineering, ideally via an indentured apprenticeship • Fault‑find electrical circuits • Knowledge of BMS systems • HVAC systems expertise • High voltage experience • Experience in contract management • Knowledge of COSHH, risk assessments, and water treatment (asset) • C&G 17th Edition BSI certificate (asset) • HV qualification (asset)
