Outside Plant Engineer

About the Role

In this position you will support all phases of utility construction for various telecom projects, developing and managing detailed project plans and designs. You will guide projects through construction, handling scheduling, budgets, and resources, while conducting daily site visits to monitor progress and ensure quality standards. Communication with customers, crew, and the Area Manager will be essential to meet deadlines and maintain high performance. • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project plans and designs. • Drive projects through construction phases, overseeing scheduling, budgets, and resources. • Conduct daily site visits to monitor progress, schedule adherence, and quality standards. • Update systems using various software and applications to record daily productivity. • Perform job site walkouts and facilitate project meetings. • Meet customer deadlines while ensuring high-quality delivery. • Maintain consistent communication with customers, crew, and Area Manager.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate has a strong safety record and field experience in telecom or construction, with the ability to read blueprints and identify proper equipment placement. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF editors, Google Earth, and a willingness to learn custom software are required. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel about 25% to local sites are also necessary, along with a preference for long‑term project engagement. • Proven safety record with high-quality work in telecom or construction. • Field experience reading blueprints and identifying equipment placement (fiber, coax). • Proficient with Microsoft Office, PDF editors, Google Earth, and ability to learn custom software. • Valid driver's license with clean record and willingness to travel ~25% to local sites. • Ability to work long-term projects in varied indoor/outdoor environments. • Relevant MOS codes (12166, 62E1G, 12A, 12N, 12T) beneficial.
