About the Role
The position reports to the Branch Installation Manager or Systems Team Leader and operates at a responsibility level focused on performing system commissioning using Johnson Controls’ configuration and commissioning tools. The role involves troubleshooting basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls issues and responding to warranty calls. The employee will load controller software, conduct basic commissioning and diagnostics on controllers and field devices, and maintain thorough documentation of all work. Communication with management, contractors, and customers is essential, as is calibrating systems with electronic test equipment and completing administrative tasks such as timesheets and expense reports. Safety standards are strictly followed, with required safety training. • Load system‑level controller software. • Perform basic commissioning and diagnostics on controllers and field devices, documenting results. • Inform management, contractors, and customers of job progress and issues. • Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment. • Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation. • Document changes and supply information for as‑built records. • Communicate with contractors or customers upon arrival and departure from the site. • Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.

What You Bring
Candidates must demonstrate technical aptitude, be proficient with hand and power tools, and possess basic computer, communication, and attention‑to‑detail skills. At least two years of experience commissioning electronic or mechanical systems, knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems, and familiarity with test equipment and commissioning software are required. A basic understanding of electrical circuitry for HVAC controls is needed, and some locations may require special low‑voltage licensing. • Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools. • Basic computer, communication, and attention‑to‑detail skills. • Minimum two years’ experience commissioning electronic or mechanical systems. • Knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems and basic electrical circuitry for HVAC controls. • Proficiency with test equipment and commissioning software tools. • Ability to meet special licensing requirements for low‑voltage device mounting/termination where applicable.
