About the Role
The Sr. Chemist provides direction and manages chemistry programs, reviewing data, monitoring performance, communicating with other Clean Energy Center (CEC) departments, maintaining regulatory compliance, writing reports, managing special projects, training personnel, and maintaining analytical, radioanalytical, in‑line, and quality‑control instrumentation. This role routinely functions in a mentoring capacity and operates with minimal oversight. • Manage chemistry programs through data analysis, walkdowns, troubleshooting, and performance‑improving strategy implementation • Communicate chemistry issues, performance metrics, and needs to CEC management and other departments • Contribute to Chemistry and CEC Performance Indicators • Oversee chemistry vendors and contracts • Prepare and manage program budgets • Provide input to corrective‑action programs and work‑management meetings • Lead special projects as required • Participate in training programs, attend industry training, and develop or deliver chemistry lesson plans • Mentor and develop chemistry staff, guide key projects, and lead fleet working groups • Participate in Emergency Response Organization and chemistry duty rotation, with on‑call support as needed

What You Bring
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science with 5 years experience, or equivalent education/experience combinations, and meet access and medical requirements • Preferred: technical degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field • Preferred: experience in radiochemistry, primary chemistry, raw water, or quality control programs • Preferred: at least 3 years of professional chemistry experience at a commercial nuclear power plant • Preferred: 8 years of nuclear plant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in operations, chemistry, or radwaste
