About the Role

The role involves building, integrating, and implementing Linux operating systems across modernised Defence ICT environments, integrating applications, tools, and infrastructure components, troubleshooting complex Linux SOE and application issues, applying cyber‑hardening measures and security controls, and developing automated build processes, technical documentation, and SOPs to support project delivery. • Build, integrate, and implement Linux operating systems across modernised Defence ICT environments. • Integrate applications, tools, and infrastructure components within Linux‑based system environments. • Troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve complex Linux SOE and application issues. • Apply cyber‑hardening measures and security controls to Linux servers and system builds. • Develop automated build processes, technical documentation, and SOPs to support project delivery.

What You Bring

We currently have an opportunity for a Linux Technician in Canberra to work on SEA2273 projects. The ideal candidate has prior experience as a Linux Technician in Defence or secure environments, a strong background supporting Linux servers in hyper‑converged and distributed architectures, and technical proficiency with Ansible, GitLab, YUM, and RHEL 7‑9. They possess well‑developed communication skills, an understanding of Defence security frameworks, cyber‑security principles, and governance (ISM, zero‑trust, ADF environments), and hold a Negative Vetting 2 or higher security clearance; ITAR compliance may also be required. A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to high‑quality outcomes are essential. • Prior experience as a Linux Technician within Defence or similar secure environments. • Strong background supporting Linux servers in hyper‑converged and distributed architectures. • Technical proficiency with Ansible, GitLab, YUM, and RHEL (7.x–9.x). • Well‑developed communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders effectively. • Understanding of Defence security frameworks, cyber‑security principles, and governance (ISM, zero‑trust, ADF environments). • Hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 2 security clearance; ITAR compliance may be required. • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
