Landfill Heavy Equip Operator

About the Role

The Operator – Heavy Equipment is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations to transfer, spread, cover, load, or compact waste or soil in an efficient manner. • Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of equipment per company policy. • Safely operate forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, front‑end loaders and other machinery. • Continuously monitor waste for prohibited materials and equipment condition. • Clean tracks or wheels and perform minor service; document issues and refer major repairs. • Complete equipment condition reports and other required documentation. • Maintain a clean and organized shop at shift end. • Follow all safety policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties.

What You Bring

The role requires good customer service, strong time‑management and follow‑through skills, adherence to safety policies, and pride in work. Minimum qualifications include two years of heavy‑equipment operation experience and one year of work at OSHA‑regulated sites.
