About the Role
The Controller will manage accounting functions across multiple divisions, including financial reporting, cash management, tax filings, and oversight of accounts payable, receivable and payroll staff. Responsibilities also include implementing best‑in‑practice accounting procedures and ensuring accurate and timely financial operations. • Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the accounting cycle is timely and current. • Review and prepare accruals for job‑related costs and general & administrative expenses. • Control postings and transactions in the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, including journal entries and monthly WIP reconciliation. • Prepare and reconcile final monthly job cost and WIP to the general ledger. • Generate monthly financial statements, close books, and perform related analysis. • Manage cash flow, including a thirteen‑week forecast and cash flow analyses. • Execute online banking transactions, such as internal transfers and external wires. • Prepare financial schedules and support audits. • File sales tax returns in all operating jurisdictions. • Coordinate with external accountants, banks, insurers, and auditors as needed. • Develop annual budgets, reforecasts, and accompanying analyses. • Assist accounting staff with Sage issues to ensure timely and accurate execution.

What You Bring
I‑Grace is seeking a Controller for its corporate headquarters in Long Island City, New York. This hands‑on role oversees monthly reconciliation of job cost and work‑in‑process (WIP) to the general ledger, prepares timely monthly financial statements, and supervises a team of three accounting professionals. The ideal candidate brings at least five years of construction industry experience, proficiency with Sage 300 CRE and AIA billing, and a track record of producing WIP schedules, preparing financials, and managing staff. • Minimum 10 years overall experience, with at least 5 years in construction accounting. • Proficient in producing WIP schedules using Sage 300 CRE; advanced Sage skills preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (master’s a plus). • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills. • Experience implementing accounting systems and procedures in a multi‑divisional environment. • Knowledge of S‑Corp tax requirements and risk‑management treasury controls. • Strong oral and written communication skills for interaction with leadership, staff, and external parties.
