About the Role

The Ironworker General Foreman oversees and coordinates daily operations of structural steel construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with specifications and timelines. This role involves supervising crews, managing resources, and liaising with project managers and subcontractors, while maintaining accountability for crew performance and safety. The foreman is expected to motivate assigned employees, enforce company and regulatory policies, and contribute to process improvements and quality control. • Supervise and coordinate structural steel construction crews. • Direct Foremen and Leadmen on-site, ensuring optimal resource use and compliance with policies and regulations; provide coaching feedback. • Schedule equipment, materials, and tools to maximize production, minimize costs, and collaborate with the Ironwork Superintendent. • Manage, coach, train, and implement standardized work plans; assist in process improvement. • Ensure safe working conditions and enforce all safety regulations; address safety concerns with the superintendent. • Account for project construction activities and communicate expectations to craftsmen, subcontractors, and vendors. • Maintain labor and equipment production records, compare to estimates, and report cost overruns. • Mentor Foremen on production costs, scope, quality, and safety. • Update and maintain crew and equipment matrices. • Hold crew members and Foremen accountable for company and project rules. • Ensure adherence to SOPs and best practices. • Conduct weekly and quarterly safety and quality audits. • Lift up to 25 lb. regularly (occasionally up to 50 lb.) and perform sedentary to heavy work, including climbing, balancing on scaffolds, and operating office equipment. • Use hands frequently for grasping, lifting, handling, and feeling objects; perform prolonged bending, twisting, walking, reaching, squatting, and standing. • Drive cars/trucks as needed. • Concentrate amid distractions, work at varying tempos, and make decisions promptly.

What You Bring

The position requires working on plant operations or construction job sites, and the foreman must understand safety hazards, operate related tools and equipment, and support the immediate supervisor as needed. • Possess advanced knowledge of QC check-out processes and obtain necessary permits. • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or NCCER certification preferred. • 5–10 years of ironworker experience in oil and gas, including 3–5 years in a supervisory role. • Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs and blueprints. • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. • Navigate uneven terrain, ladders, multi‑floor buildings without elevators, and work in adverse weather conditions. • Meet vision requirements for close and distance focus and have hearing/comprehension for directions. • Communicate effectively with management, supervision, and field workers; comprehend spoken and written instructions. • Perform calculations and use math skills as required. • Be detail-oriented, remembering and observing details; exhibit strong leadership and motivational abilities.
