About the Role

The Content Developer role supports Upchurch University’s Learning & Development expansion by creating high‑quality training for field and office staff across all business units. The position blends instructional design expertise with strong visual development and close collaboration with construction operations. Key responsibilities include designing interactive eLearning, microlearning, and blended experiences; building complete instructor‑led training packages; developing digital aids, videos, and simulations; and translating complex construction workflows into clear learning content. The role also involves partnering with SMEs, managing project timelines, maintaining version control, piloting materials, and supporting the LMS and digital content library. • Design and develop interactive eLearning, microlearning, and blended training for technical, safety, operational, and leadership topics. • Build complete instructor‑led training (ILT) packages, including facilitator guides, participant guides, slide decks, activities, and discussion exercises. • Create digital learning assets such as job aids, workflows, decision trees, knowledge checks, assessments, videos, animations, and interactive simulations. • Translate complex construction processes and technical concepts into clear, accessible training content using instructional design methodology. • Maintain consistent instructional style, tone, and brand across all Upchurch University learning assets. • Partner with subject‑matter experts, operations leaders, technical trainers, and safety personnel to gather and validate content. • Facilitate structured content‑working sessions to extract technical knowledge and map processes. • Manage multiple development projects from intake through deployment, maintaining documentation, version control, and organized file systems. • Establish and track development timelines aligned with broader training implementation schedules. • Conduct pilot testing, gather learner feedback, and refine materials to improve clarity, usability, and effectiveness. • Ensure content remains accurate and up‑to‑date with evolving field practices, safety standards, and company processes. • Upload, test, and publish eLearning and ILT materials within the LMS, troubleshooting issues and monitoring engagement metrics. • Maintain a growing digital content library organized by topic, trade, and learning level.

What You Bring

Candidates must have 2–5+ years of instructional design or content development experience, advanced proficiency with Articulate Storyline and Rise, and a proven ability to create instructor‑led training, write clearly, simplify technical concepts, and manage projects. Preferred experience includes construction or data‑center work, multimedia tool proficiency, and familiarity with LMS platforms. • Required: 2–5+ years instructional design or content development experience; advanced proficiency with Articulate Storyline and Rise; experience creating ILT materials; strong writing, editing, and visual communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts; strong organization and project management; collaboration with field and technical teams; up to 10% travel. • Preferred: construction industry (MEP, GC, subcontractor) experience; data‑center or mission‑critical background; familiarity with technical trades, project management, or safety processes; multimedia tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Camtasia, motion graphics); working knowledge of LMS platforms and basic troubleshooting.
