About the Role
The role involves communicating with Waste Management drivers to resolve problems while they are on route for residential, commercial, and roll‑off services. The employee will handle incoming service orders, direct drivers, and use WM proprietary software to manage same‑day ticket routing and prepare next‑day routes, with occasional overtime, Saturday hours, and up to 15% travel for face‑to‑face site visits. Key duties include dispatching drivers based on customer needs and driver locations, optimizing routes with sites and the service department, determining daily staffing levels, assigning routes and service tickets, handling incoming calls and emails, communicating with customers during service, troubleshooting delivery and pick‑up issues, and ensuring same‑day service for missed pick‑ups. • Dispatch drivers to service calls using real‑time data on customer needs, driver locations, and load factors. • Collaborate with sites and service departments to continuously improve routing efficiency. • Determine optimal daily driver staffing levels to balance responsiveness and productivity. • Assign and manage service tickets and routes for current and next‑day operations. • Field inbound calls and emails, coordinating pick‑up and delivery requests across the market area. • Communicate proactively with customers while drivers are on site to resolve issues promptly. • Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery or pick‑up problems before they impact service. • Maintain same‑day service for missed pick‑ups by monitoring driver movements and adjusting routes.

What You Bring
This is a remote position with virtual training, requiring a shift start between 3 am and 7 am CST. Strong communication and computer skills are preferred, and experience in dispatch, routing, or logistics is a plus. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, at least six months of relevant team‑oriented work experience, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment. Required skills include proficiency with multiple computer programs, professional written and verbal communication, and a willingness to learn WM’s proprietary software. • Demonstrate strong computer proficiency across multiple programs and WM proprietary software. • Exhibit professional communication skills via email, telephone, and two‑way devices.
