About the Role
The Resident Engineer will manage construction supervision of a Traffic Monitoring and Information Collection System, overseeing procurement, execution, integration, and testing of civil, electrical, and communications infrastructure and ensuring full integration with the Central ITS Management System. The role ensures the project is completed on time, within budget, and meets quality and safety standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily construction activities, leading multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and quality compliance, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders, reviewing technical submittals, managing health, safety and environmental standards, mitigating risks, and maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. • Oversee daily construction activities and progress. • Lead project teams including specialists, engineers, inspectors, and quantity surveyors. • Ensure construction is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meets quality standards. • Coordinate with contractors, client/PMC, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution. • Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and related documentation. • Manage health, safety, and environmental protection standards on site. • Identify and mitigate project risks, providing proactive solutions. • Monitor and evaluate technical and financial proposals and constructability. • Facilitate effective communication among project team and external parties. • Ensure integration of civil, electrical, and communications works with the Central ITS Management System.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, have at least 10 years of post‑graduate experience with 7 years in managerial or technical lead roles on large‑scale UAE infrastructure projects, and possess hands‑on ITS experience, strong leadership, excellent English communication, and proficiency in project‑management software; desired skills include risk management expertise, knowledge of local regulations, fast‑track project experience, and the ability to adapt and innovate. • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. • Minimum 10 years post‑graduate experience, with at least 7 years in managerial/technical lead roles on large UAE infrastructure projects. • Hands‑on experience with ITS design, configuration, integration, and commissioning. • Proven track record in managing health, safety, and environmental aspects of large‑scale projects. • Strong leadership, team motivation, and communication abilities. • Proficiency in project‑management and construction software tools. • Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic a plus. • Strong understanding of project risk management. • Knowledge of Dubai/UAE regulations and permitting processes. • Experience delivering fast‑track, high‑pressure projects. • Ability to adapt quickly and provide innovative solutions.
