About the Role

The Field Engineer assists the Project Engineer as the technical source of information for the project. They respond to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders, and help prepare change orders, RFIs, meeting minutes, and submittal reviews. The role maintains professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. The position has three steps—Entry (Step I), intermediate (Step II) after two years or larger projects, and Senior after four years or extensive project experience. Key duties include supporting the creation and maintenance of as‑built drawings, processing submittals and change orders, and ensuring proper documentation of meeting agendas and reports. The engineer contributes to the project management plan, change management, quality management, and safety culture, and may assist with budgeting, production rates, risk management, BIM coordination, LEED documentation, and field support. • Assist Project Engineer with as‑built drawings, submittals, change orders, RFIs, and budget forecasts. • Generate, collect, distribute, store, retrieve, and archive meeting agendas, RFIs, and daily reports. • Support and execute the Project Management Plan and change management process. • Administer project quality management and promote a safety culture. • Calculate daily production rates, unit costs, and assist with budgeting and cost control. • Participate in risk management, including identification, analysis, response planning, and monitoring. • Oversee BIM coordination between subcontractors and designers. • Document and submit LEED certification materials and update digital record drawings. • Provide layout, grading, and maintain quantity logs for weekly reporting. • Support superintendents and resolve field problems as needed. • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or bend. • Use telephone, computer, email, or other electronic devices to communicate. • Comply with all safety standards and procedures. • Occasionally climb stairs or ladders. • Frequently use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects. • Interact with people regularly during a shift. • Occasionally lift, push, or pull objects. • Sit, stand, or walk short distances for the duration of a shift.

What You Bring

Candidates must have strong communication skills, a four‑year construction‑related degree or equivalent experience, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite. Physical expectations involve wearing personal protective equipment, frequent reaching, occasional stooping, and the ability to lift, push, pull, and move throughout the workday while complying with safety standards. • Strong communication and responsibility, able to interface with team members. • Four‑year construction‑related degree or equivalent technical/field experience. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.). • Frequently reach above shoulder height and below waist.
