About the Role

The primary purpose of the role is to evaluate radiological conditions in the nuclear plant and implement necessary safety measures for plant workers and the public. • Perform dose‑rate, contamination, and airborne radioactivity surveys. • Provide job coverage for work groups to minimize personnel exposure. • Control access to radioactive material through labeling and posting. • Brief plant personnel and provide guidance to prevent unplanned exposure. • Measure and record radiation levels on assigned shifts, clean and maintain respiratory protection equipment, and wear a respirator as required.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent with chemistry and math courses. • Ability to pass pre‑employment testing, work rotating shifts, and receive unescorted nuclear access. • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. • One of the following: associate degree in radiation protection/health physics; 2 years related professional experience; 6 years Navy nuclear experience with ELT qualification; prior radiation protection experience at commercial nuclear plants and successful NUF exam.
