About the Role

As a Cleaner on the BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions team you will be responsible for maintaining a designated zone with a focus on quality control, health and safety, and exceeding client expectations. You will report to the Manager/Supervisor and work as a core member of the operational team. • Sweep, scrub, vacuum and mop hard-surface floors using handheld, walk-behind or automatic scrubbers. • Strip, seal, finish and polish floors manually or with power equipment. • Clean glass areas, washroom floors, stairwells and elevator cabs, using ladders or scaffolding as needed. • Transport garbage, maintenance machinery and supplies between floors and job sites. • Load, unload and replenish cleaning solutions; clean and store equipment after use. • Operate steam cleaners or carpet shampooers. • Remove snow, ice and debris from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas with plows, snow blowers or shovels and apply melt chemicals. • Mix water and detergents according to specifications and follow chemical safety procedures. • Notify management of major repairs or building-system issues.

What You Bring

The role requires experience in institutional cleaning and floor-maintenance equipment, knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS, ability to lift, push and pull heavy items and climb ladders, and excellent interpersonal skills. You must be willing to work weekends, holidays, shifts and multiple locations, follow written and verbal instructions, maintain records, hold a valid Class G licence (if required) and meet any applicable security-clearance requirements.

Benefits
