About the Role
We are seeking a Security Advisor to join Downer Professional Services, reporting to the Senior Security Advisor. The role is central to ensuring compliance with the Defence Industry Security Program and delivering high-quality outcomes for essential services. Downer plans, creates, and sustains essential public services across Australia and New Zealand, managing critical infrastructure such as hospitals, data centres, and defence partnerships that keep communities thriving. • Manage, monitor, and report on enterprise security initiatives and coordinate security clearances. • Develop and maintain enterprise security documentation, including plans, processes, procedures, and internal controls. • Maintain the security clearance register and administer daily clearance requests and changes. • Liaise with client‑side security officers regarding Downer staff security clearances. • Assist staff with security‑related matters.

What You Bring
• Hold an Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) security clearance. • Knowledge of Defence Security Principles Framework, Protective Security Policy Framework, and Information Security Manual. • Understanding of security requirements in Defence and National Security sectors. • Experience operating security systems such as access control, alarms, and CCTV. • Experience in Australian Government environments; Defence Industry Security Program experience desirable. • Demonstrate strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
