About the Role
The HVAC Chiller Technician – Traveling Data Center Technician role supports mission‑critical cooling infrastructure in data centers, requiring roughly 50 % travel to perform startup, commissioning, warranty and service tasks on complex chiller systems. Technicians act as the trusted face of Carrier, applying expertise to installations, repairs and maintenance while ensuring reliability and customer confidence. • Travel up to 50% to start up, commission, warranty and service data center chillers. • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; perform routine HVAC maintenance. • Read and interpret codes, blueprints and technical diagrams. • Build and maintain strong customer relationships; escalate issues promptly. • Follow safety protocols, licensing requirements and hazard recognition procedures.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, EPA refrigerant certification, and at least five years of commercial HVAC experience with a focus on air‑cooled or centrifugal chillers. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working on rooftops, as well as standing or crawling for extended periods, plus a valid driver’s license acceptable to the insurer. Preferred qualifications include OSHA 30 certification, basic building‑automation knowledge, data‑center experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with ServiceMax.
