Trainees must finish Republic Services' comprehensive CDL training, which includes classroom instruction, on‑route experience, and a loaned truck, and then pass the state CDL exam. They are required to remain employed for twelve months after receiving the CDL, perform thorough pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections, and operate heavy trucks safely following assigned routes and disposal procedures. The role also involves monitoring waste for compliance, tagging unsatisfactory containers, maintaining vehicle readiness, and adhering to all safety policies. After licensing, trainees assume all standard driver responsibilities and may be assigned additional duties as needed.
