About the Role
The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician role supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building, and by installing, maintaining and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment. The position also offers opportunities to develop skills and mentor junior technicians. Daily responsibilities include promoting a safe working environment, completing preventive maintenance routines with proper documentation, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems on material handling equipment such as belts, motors, photo‑eyes and relays, and maintaining positive relationships across the Operations facility. Technicians must be able to move up to 49 lb, stand and walk during shifts of up to 12 hours, and may travel up to 20 % of the time. What You Bring
Required qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends, nights and holidays, and at least two years of experience repairing material handling equipment and conducting predictive and preventive maintenance. Preferred qualifications include an associate or higher degree in mechanical or electrical fields, experience with automated conveyor systems and controls, ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics, knowledge of OEM safety standards, proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System, and background in robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance. The role demands physical activities such as repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, lifting parts averaging 20 lb (occasionally up to 49 lb), and working in small, dusty, noisy, hot or cold environments, including heights, concrete floors for long periods, and cramped spaces under machinery.
