About the Role

• Perform electrical maintenance on production equipment following safety procedures, including lockout/tagout. • Verify guards and safety devices are installed and functional before equipment operation. • Monitor inventory of parts and supplies, place orders, and verify receipts. • Use manual and computerized maintenance management systems to track, inspect, and report equipment status. • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment. • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and quality issues. • Conduct breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeovers on production equipment. • Identify and report safety, quality, or operational issues when unable to resolve independently. • Observe mechanical devices and use precision instruments to diagnose problems. • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and safety regulations. • Operate powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes as required. • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in problem‑solving activities. • Comply with OSHA standards, hazard communication, lockout procedures, and ergonomic guidelines. • Promote a culture of health and safety.

What You Bring

The Maintenance Technician role at Atlas Tube in Kansas City, Missouri is essential to the safe repair, rebuild, and reliability of our tube‑mill production equipment. Reporting to the supervisor, you will focus on maximizing equipment quality, uptime, rate, and yield while adhering strictly to safety standards. This position is ideal for individuals with strong electrical aptitude, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to address both electrical and mechanical issues. • Minimum 5 years experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial maintenance. • Strong mechanical experience with electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLCs. • High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or related mechanical/electrical training preferred. • Proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and technical drawings. • Effective English communication and basic math skills. • Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment. • Ability to pass job‑related testing, physical exam, and drug screen. • Strong teamwork, collaborative and results‑oriented mindset. • Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform various physical motions.
