About the Role

This role serves as the lead BMS consultant, building and managing a staff, coordinating instrumentation and controls activities, and ensuring client satisfaction across sectors such as aviation, critical facilities, finance, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. Travel across the U.S. may be required to interface with internal and external stakeholders at state‑of‑the‑art facilities. • Lead BMS consulting team and oversee instrumentation and controls support activities • Prepare controls design drawings, integrated system specifications, and perform design calculations • Select equipment for building systems and author technical reports • Assist clients with vendor selection and procurement of best‑of‑breed solutions • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design teams • Manage quality control, resource allocation, and financial aspects of assigned projects • Develop and maintain BMS processes, standards, and performance metrics • Support business development, client relationship management, and hiring activities

The firm is seeking a performance‑driven, highly motivated Senior BMS Control System/Smart Building Engineer for several U.S. locations, including New York, Chicago, and a choice of West‑Coast or Southeast offices. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in future‑enabling trends, converged networks, and IoT technology to promote occupant wellness, and will collaborate with the national ICT team to grow local Syska services, identify new business opportunities, and leverage the firm’s smart‑technology competitive edge. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred) • Minimum 7 years of HVAC controls experience in consulting, contracting, or engineering roles • Expertise in BMS/EPMS/DCIM/SCADA design, implementation, and operations • Strong knowledge of HVAC/electrical instrumentation, control sequences, and building IT/low‑voltage systems • Understanding of smart‑building technology convergence, IT/OT network design, and analytics platforms • Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment • Professional Engineer (PE) license, ASHRAE/CABA involvement, and industry publications are a plus
