About the Role

The Operations Manager – Hauling leads the collections activities for commercial, industrial and residential customers across a geographically dispersed area. This role supervises Operations Supervisors, Dispatchers, Operations Clerks, Drivers and Helpers, ensuring the route system runs efficiently for commercial, roll‑off and residential services. Working closely with the General Manager and other unit leaders, the manager implements local market strategies that support the broader strategic and marketing plans of the business unit. Key responsibilities include hiring, training, coaching and performance management of staff, as well as setting supervisory goals and addressing safety issues and claims. The manager executes tactical initiatives to enhance customer experience, drive growth, and improve profitability while maintaining high productivity and controlling labor, disposal expenses and budgetary commitments. Safety, accident prevention, regulatory compliance, and loss‑control programs are overseen to create a safe, productive work environment.

The minimum qualification is a high school diploma or GED, coupled with at least two years of supervisory or management experience or completion of Republic Services’ management trainee program. Compensation ranges from $104,400 to $143,550, with an annual incentive bonus targeting 20% of base salary. Additional compensation details are provided on the company’s pay‑transparency page.
