About the Role

The Maintenance Technician B works under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, electrical, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. Duties also include basic tire work such as replacements, rotations, and tread depth checks. Technicians enjoy working on a single, state‑of‑the‑art fleet while supporting drivers on their routes. Technicians must maintain a working knowledge of vehicle systems and perform both preventative and corrective maintenance on‑site and on the road. Responsibilities cover chassis repairs, refuse‑body controls, engine work, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, and welding/fabrication. They safely provide road service to return equipment to operation, diagnose malfunctions with electronic tools, and complete required company training. Additional job‑related tasks are assigned as needed.

What You Bring

Candidates should understand work‑order labor standards and have experience with light/medium‑duty (Classes 1‑5) and heavy‑duty (Classes 7‑8) trucks, aircraft, or ships. ASE certifications (T1‑T8) and a Commercial Driver’s License are advantageous but not required, while a valid driver’s license is mandatory. A minimum of one year of technician experience or recent graduation from an accredited automotive program is required, along with the ability to inspect key systems such as suspension, engine, brakes, hydraulics, and diesel emissions.
